About
Gizem Odabaşı is a Turkish surreal artist, born in İzmir in 1995 and currently based in the Netherlands. She graduated in Textile Engineering from Ege University in 2019, but her artistic journey began earlier, with drawing classes at Gölge Art Studio in 2014.
After a brief professional experience in Istanbul, she chose to follow her lifelong passion for art. She moved to Eskişehir to take a graphic design course and embraced a self-taught artistic path. Her works were exhibited in painting competitions organized by the Çayyolu Rotary Club (2019) and Saküder (2020).
In 2021, she actively participated in the Art Street events in Eski Foça, where she not only exhibited her original pieces but also created an open space for children to express themselves through drawing and painting.
For two years, Gizem worked in wall decoration on construction sites, using Italian plastering and painting techniques. Alongside this, she gave private art lessons to students of all ages and continued to work as a freelance graphic designer.
She moved to the Netherlands in August 2024 and now continues her artistic practice in Eindhoven.
